Metropolis (1927)

Metropolis is a film from 1927 it is set in a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city's mastermind falls in love with a working class prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate there differences. 

This film is one of the first that really showed what people thought the future and cyborgs would be like.
